Rita Franklin

Rita is an experienced leader, Executive Coach, problem solver, HR Consultant and Organizational Ombudsman. She served the federal government for nearly 40 years at the U.S. Information Agency, Voice of America, the Department of Treasury, and the Department of Energy. As a Presidential Rank Award Winning Senior Executive, Rita is highly sought out to help leaders deal with their “too hard pile” and help them find creative and effective solutions to address organizational conflict.


Over the last twelve years, coaching has become Rita’s passion. She coaches executives and emerging leaders across industries to enhance leadership by improving communication, cultivating relations, reframing challenges, and tapping into authentic presence and vulnerability. She is a trusted advisor and has played a critical role in helping organizations with change and transition management. In addition, Rita has contributed over one hundred hours of pro-bono coaching to young people in her community as well as to the Special Olympics and Easter Seals leadership.


A native Washingtonian, Rita currently lives in Columbia, Maryland. Married to her high school sweetheart for 47 years, with three daughters and eight grandchildren, Rita enjoys creative cooking, baking, walking, hiking and cycling. She volunteers and is active with her church.
